TimThumb isn't working in my theme

When developing your website on a temp URL, you may find that any images generated by TimThumb do not appear.  This is most likely due to a TimThumb limitation which does not accept the tilde "~" character in the temp URL.

If you're managing your own DNS, you will need to create an A RECORD and give yourself a subdomain - or - when you switch live with a FQDN (fully qualified domain name) it will work.
